We were commissioned to design, craft and install a luxury traditional kitchen in a large country house of 19,890 square feet in 28 acres. The client – a family of five – wanted a space that incorporated all the latest technology but didn’t clash with the beautiful period architecture.

The Victorian house’s beautiful Gothic detailing needed sympathetic treatment, and we wanted to design a bespoke kitchen and space that fused modern and traditional in a brilliantly harmonious way. The cabinets we designed featured detailing to mirror the mansion’s original features, and we applied several coats of primer and then hand-painted in situ to create a softened aged and traditional look. The Portuguese marble worktops mirrored the flooring material.
The luxury traditional kitchen is a real family hub, with a huge wall-to-ceiling bay window and French doors opening out to a terrace with beautiful far-reaching views.
To complement this style the kitchen cabinetry we created featured traditional classical detailing and the kitchen island was topped with solid walnut. Appliances included a large eight-hob gas Wolf oven and Gaggenau fridge-freezer with wine chiller. The highly polished Portuguese marble floor throughout adds depth and sophistication.
